That’s why we were thrilled when our Director, Adrian, was invited to speak at Leigh Central Primary School to give pupils a glimpse into the world of IT and the many exciting opportunities it holds.

The moment Adrian stepped into the room, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a quiet Q&A. The pupils were full of energy and bursting with questions — everything from:

  • “How do you become a YouTuber?”
  • “Can you really get paid to play video games?”
  • “What’s the biggest computer you’ve ever seen?”

    • Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it created the perfect opportunity to have a fun and honest conversation about what working in IT really involves.

    Opening Young Eyes to the World of IT

    While gaming and content creation are popular career dreams (and perfectly valid ones), Adrian took the chance to explain how technology powers almost every part of our daily lives, and how IT careers go far beyond the screen.

    He spoke about how abtec supports local schools and businesses as a Managed Service Provider (MSP) — from keeping networks secure to solving technical problems, managing cloud systems, and ensuring that everything just works when it’s needed most.

    The pupils were fascinated to learn that people like Adrian and the abtec team help make sure their school’s devices stay online, safe, and fast — even if they never see us doing it.
